Young Camelon Parish is a youth group for children aged 9 years old upwards. We meet on Sunday evenings at 6.30 pm until 8.00 pm. We have taken part in lots of different events and activities over this year. For example we have had visits from dial-a-bus, the RNLI and the SSPCA this has given us the opportunity to find out about lots of different things. We've also had lots of differnet kinds of fun, we've been swimming, had a Hallowe'en party, visited two panto's, taken part in our own fund-raising 'moonwalk' and had a couple of BBQ's! We've still got a Hawaiian night to come and a surprise end of session event before we finish for the summer at the end of June.
We would be delighted to welcome any young people to our group, come along to the Brown Street Hall and see if it's for you! |

On 19/03/11 - 20/03/11 we did our annual moonwalk. There were 17 of us doing 220 laps of Brown Street Church Hall so the total amount of laps covered was 3740. We started at 9:30 and did the first 110 in 45mins and then we had a five minute break and then we did the rest of the laps but this time we were quicker than the first time.
After we finished our laps we made some cocktails and some people had coconut milk and fresh orange and others had apple and orange.
After we had our cocktails it was time for supper and there was some very good food
When it was time to go to sleep the lights got put out but the noise level rose which was ok for some but not for others |

Christmas - Anytown Youth Group (Christmas Show) |
|

On December the 21st, Camelon Parish Church Youth Group, YCP, hosted a Christmas show in the church. There were about 50 people there to see us perform.
The show was a drama which was about the real meaning of Christmas and was written by everyone in the youth group, and included lots of real life situations. Some of these gave people a laugh and others were quite touching.
We had some carol singing with everyone joining in, but the highlight was the group singing 'Silent Night' (with harmonies) with a little help from Stuart (the minister).
We all got a surprise when Boney M turned up (it wasn't really them - it was Janice, Alexis, Elaine and Alastair all dressed up!) they mimed and danced!! (sort of) to Mary's Boy Child and had everyone in fits of laughter! You can see them by clicking on this link.
