Over the weekend 21st / 24th August the Walking Group spent a very enjoyable stay at Pitlochry Hydro Hotel during which time they completed the last two sections of the 80 mile Rob Roy Trail.
The strenuous section from Kenmore to Aberfeldy encompassed steep climbs and rough tracks, a section of which had been churned up by forestry tree-cutting equipment resulting in ankle deep mud. The 17 walkers, mainly senior citizens, were a rather dishevelled group on arrival at Aberfeldy, however the sun shone the following day throughout the final 11 mile trek from Aberfeldy to Pitlochry.
This again involved a long ascent but the views over the countryside and Strath Tay were more than recompense for the exertions.
Over the last few years the Group has completed the West Highland Way, The Fife Coastal Path, and the Rob Roy Trail together with many other one day outings.
