Building Project
On 4th October 2006 representatives of Camelon Parish Church met with the Church of Scotland Trustees and agreement was reached that the new Worship Centre would be sited on the Glasgow Road (formerly St John's) site and that the most cost effective way to proceed would be to incorporate the shell of the existing building in the development of the facilities that we require. It is anticipated that this will be achieved by splitting the interior horizontally and using the upper section for the church and dividing the lower parts to provide a range of facilities. It is probable that a sizeable hall will be appended to the rear of the building. This concept was approved by the Kirk Session at its meeting on 10th October and an announcement to that effect was made to the congregation during worship on 15th October. Our next step is to consult with the current users of our facilities and to draw up a draft specification for the architects.

Our journey to a new worship centre started with the first step, the union between Camelon St. John's and Camelon Irving Churches. While we will be able to raise a significant amount of money from the sale of our current properties the congregation will still have to find the balance, a not inconsiderable sum. We are taking the opportunity of your visit to our website to ask you to consider helping us meet some of the cost of the new, purpose built premises that we need to fulfil our mission to the people who live in the Parish of Camelon.
